My dryer keeps getting lint past the trap- cleaned everything and made sure it is seated properly-stiill sends lint outside. Now it is getting a brown burnt residue on hot air inlet which is transfering to clothes. I cleaned everything and it has reoccured, drying time has increased also. 2 years old!
Probably a seal around the drum or blower needs to be replaced.

A1 Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.

I would check the blower wheel. If it is loose or has any play replace it. Check the outside vent to see if air is blowing out the vent as strong as usual. If all that checks good the cycling thermostat is likely the problem. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here are a couple links that should help
