Yes, I bought this radio off of ebay for my father as a gift and it was/is locked with a code I emailed the guy I bought it off of on ebay and asked him for the code he says he never installed a code in the radio that he just removed it unhooked it from his car put it and the remote in the factory box that it came in when he had bought it new with all the paperwork that had come with it and shipped it to me. I worked as a Installer for Audio Express in Jonesboro, Ar for 6 or 7 years we sold and installed Kenwood 12volt car and Home Audio products! That has been about 8 years ago the manger has changed since I worked there so he won't help me in any way even though I have my receipt for the purchase from ebay. So when I get it in I give it to my dad and he goes and installs it into his truck and when he powers it up it asks for the code. Whats my options here that I haven with this radio? I gave to much for it to just trash it and eat my losses ya know and there is one thing I've learn'd since being a certified installer there is a way around everything! I just can't figure this one out for myself! So any help would be greatly appreciated very, very, much...........

Re: Powers up and asks for code?
Do you have the owner's manual for the radio, and if so have you tried to input the number code they have exampled in the manual?
The guy you bought it from did get into the procedure for setting up a security code - - he may not have gone as far as completing the task but from the owner's manual instructions it appears he went far enough and then maybe disconnected it leaving it in "CODE" display.
If you need the manual I can send it to you privately, just drop me an email. [email protected]
And as a last resort you could try calling Kenwood support 800-536-9663. They may be able to send you the backdoor code.
Hope this helps!

you can try to master reset it, but it seems physical dmg and it would have to be repaired/replaced. Turn the tablet all the way off, press and hold the VOL - and power at the same time for 8 to 9 seconds, it will show a green android guy with a system recovery menu. Use vol - to go down to Wipe Data/Factory Reset, press the power button to select it, go down to 'yes' to confirm, press the power button to select it, it will wipe the tablet, you then press the power button on 'reboot system'.
I would suggest calling the police around the area you bought it from and see if anyone has reported their radio missing in their car. I don't buy things on Ebay "as Discribed", unless it comes from a reliable source (usually someone who has their own ebay store or warehouses). This is probably a radio that the guy broke into and stole out of someones car. Probably tried to use it and found out there was a lock code. If there has been one that has been reported as stolen within that area they will know a key code to turn it back on. Then send the police to pick up the guy and get your money back.
If the Police don't have any reports of stolen cars broken into and radios missing. I would suggest calling KenWood or checking with their site to find a way to reset this code. If you paid a lot for this product I don't see why anyone would be selling it AS IS. It sounds too Fishy for me.
