try putting it back on the charger & see if it turns on a friend of mine had a jammed lock button & when her phone died thats the only way she could turn it on. if it doesnt than theres most likely a battery problem. Also go in a very dark room & see if it works the backlight could be out on it
hello, Sounds to me if water has indeed spilled into the PSP then is has shorted out. Can i ask was it charging at the time water was spilled onto the device?
I can suggest Replacing the battery, and also the charger. this should fix the problem.
push the "Push" button on the back off the device. Slide the cover off, place finger at top off battery. (were there is a lip) Pull finger backwards. battery is now out off the device.
Any further questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks for using fixya.
u cant charge on a computer unless you have a charger that hooks up to it...are you sure your using a charger or are you using the cord that transfers data to ur psp! the data cord will not charge ur psp its not a charger all it does is transfer data sorry you need a charger for the psp not a data cable
the downloads dont matter.u change the battery and if it doesnt work take it to a shop.if u have spill water on it open the psp cover and everything and for 2 days put it in the hot sun
the way 2 know if tis charging is wen u plug in ur charger 2 ur psp on da right a orange light should appear and stay ther eas long as its charging . wen it goes away it should be blank. if this doesnt happen on urs i dont know why. it should have come wiv a anual in ur psp box unless u have bought a used 1 from someone in dat case dey mite have not given 2 u for whatever reason. i hope dis helped=)
It sounds like a power supply problem. either your battery or the internal power source is defected do to the drop.. or maybe u didnt charge your battery. On one of my psps i have to wiggle around the ac adaptor to make sure its charging sometimes
If this doesnt resolve your problem you may have to call psp customer service at 800-345-7669. This is a toll free number.

The polarity of the charger you used is wrong or the wrong voltage, and has messed up the programming n the battery. You may be lucky if you get a new battery and use the Right charger, It might fix it. Sony put a battery in the PSP that has a memory chip in it, and I think it will automatically disconnect if the wrong vooltage hits it, or wrong polarity. be warned that I have seen where someone got a new battery and it did not solve the problem. If this happens to you Contact Sony at the following number.
Please mention after switching on the PSP power LED turns on or not?

Suppose without connecting the charger when you power on your PSP you will see green light and you will get sound clear with no display at all and after 1 min: PSP will turn off automatically. then 99% it means that your PSP is bricked.
