Try these in no particular order (except last 3) try command-option power this puts p-books to sleep (may trigger it to wake) (it could be asleep) Remove your battery and wait 5-10 mins then try to start up with battery in Remove your battery and wait 5-10 mins then try to start up with battery removed To zap PRAM On startup hold down the cmd, option, p and r buttons Hold till you hear boot up sound To zap NV RAM On startup hold down the cmd, option, n and v buttons Hold till you hear boot up sound To reset Power Manager On startup hold down the shift, fn, ctrl and power buttons Hold till you hear boot up sound To reset the screen on a powerbook: On startup hold down the r button - To force internal Hard drive to be startup disk On startup hold down the r button - until boot Disable extensions: Try power up-reboot with shift key down Last but not least try to startup with original MAC system startup CD If all else fails try to get to an Apple Store...unless it's a real hardware problem (fried circuits/damage they'll fix it for free!) Pray - believe it or not... it worked for me when I got down on my knees and prayed. Hope this helps also from Fixya By horthette Rank: Master Rating: 74%, 10 votes Apple is advising all owners of MacBooks or MacBook Pros bought after February 2006 to download a software update that will help fix some battery issues. The update, available through Software Update in the Apple menu or here on Apple's site, was released to correct some battery performance problems, such as shorter than usual battery life or problems charging the battery, according to a Web page on the support section of Apple's site. But if that fix doesn't work, notebook users should contact Apple to have their battery replaced if they notice the following symptoms, cut and pasted from Apple's support document: * Battery is not recognized causing an "X" to appear in the battery icon in the Finder menu bar. * Battery will not charge when computer is plugged into AC power. * Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300. * Battery pack is visibly deformed. Apple says these problems aren't safety issues, just performance-related, a relief for those who remember the massive battery recall of last summer. Apple had to recall 1.8 million batteries manufactured by Sony as part of a larger recall that affected just about everyone in the PC industry.
