Re: no red in picture
If this happened at the same rime that the repairman replaced the IC's in the set, I would say he is responsible to repair this problem. I would tend to think that the red picture tube socket is loose, or the repairman pulled a cable or connector loose, unless he turned on the set while something on the chassis was touching something else and blew something out. Good Luck

Hi, Double vision/ picture problem occurs due to failure of convergence output ICs in rear projection tv and it is common problem of projection tvs. Please replace convergence output ICs in tv to solve the issue, there is convergence repair kit available for $70 on This Site that has required parts/ ICs, instructions about how to replace ICs etc for a handy person. Hope these info will help. Thanks.
Hi, 3 times red light blinking indicates that tv got problem of convergence output ICs failure and need to replace two big black ICs (convergence output) to solve this problem. IC replacement requires soldering work and good knowledge of electronics stuff repair, please cal local tv repairman if you do not have prior experience of such work to avoid any damage. Hope this will help. Thanks.
The three blinks indicates a convergence IC fault. The convergence ICs must be replaced with the manufacturer replacement part. Use only the original replacement part. Your set uses STK392-110 convergence ICs. These ICs are mounted on a large heat sink. Yes, you can replace it yourself and save few hundred bucks. But you must be knowledgeable enough on how to solder, resolder and use a multimeter. You will need:
Heat sink grease or thermal compound
Small side cutter
Feel free to inform me if you decide to replace the ICs yourself
Tell all users of this site that the issue you seem to be facing is common in alot of rear projection tvs. When they shut down and the red light flashes, it may need a component known as a large signal board/deflection board for particular model and brand of tv. Ask a technician for more advice. But i believe this is the issue
3 blinks is the error code for the convergence ICs. You need to replace both STK392-110 convergence ICs. You can get replacement ICs at the following link and they provide installation instructions with pictures. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
The convergence IC needed are STK 392-110 two of them and possibly a resistor or two If you don't know how to unsolder and solder I would suggest an honest repairman. most Parts distributors won't sell unless you have a business but you could try anyway. A volt-ohm meter is required "IF" a resistor needs to be checked or is burned. Convergence IC's are a common problem with all projection tv's. It may last another 5 years especially if you don't buy the generic ic's
