Error 906 for mfp t642 - Lexmark T642 Laser Printer

This error is related to the Yellow charger that sets on the yellow drum, it might be out of position or defective, I would try to reset this error first to see if it goes away if it does not work you might need to replace that part.

Reset Kyocera error code:
1. On the Operation Panel of the Kyocera MFP Enter Simulation Mode. Simulation Mode is accessed by pressing 10871087 on the number keypad.
2. Enter Simulation 906 Reset and Press the Green Start Button. The MFP will ask you to turn the main switch OFF/ON

3. The main switch is located on the right side of the device next to the power outlet.

Hi, the way to fix this problem is by updating the firmware on your printer. Go to support.lexmark.com/printerfirmware and use the following keycode: lsstp240 that will download the firmware that you need to flash to your printer. To flashed you can do the following. If your printer is connected to the network then go to a browser and where you will type the Url (ex www.fixya.com) type the IP address of the printer. Then go to configuration, then go to Update firmware and browse for the firmware that you just downloaded and hit send. The printer will start beeping and saying updating firmware do not turn off. Once the firmware update is complete then the printer will restart and you should not see the watchdog error again.

this error is a scanner lost lock error and can be caused by the scanner or the logic board. if this error comes up immediately on power up the scanner motor is not initializing by percentages of failure the scanner is approximately 85% the logic board 15% i would change the scanner

a 920 error means your fuser is under temperature at standby. you should replace the thermistor it cycles the fuser on and off to maintain these temps

Service fuser error requires a maintenance kit, this is approx $1000 + installed, if this is new, I would be taking it back because it shouldnt have this error. You possibly might be able tto fix it by replacing the fan in the back but thats only worked for me in approx 1 out of every 10 times.

Chip on toner is bad, try puting in old one to reset and switch it with new one, sometimes turning off and on several times helps.
