HP Pavilion ze4115 Notebook Logo

Question about HP Pavilion ze4115 Notebook

1 Answer

Won't boot. I have a HP Pavilion ze4115 laptop and yesterday it stopped booting up. When I turn it on it goes to the HP logo screen and doesn't do anything 5secs after being turned on and stays at the logo screen. I've also tried pushing escape and any of the other buttons that it has at the bottem of the screen and it would act like it was going to do something but would not load anything. My laptop is about 5years old so my dad suggested the CMOS battery has died or maybe it needs to be resetted...only thing is where is the CMOS battery at? Is it something I could fix or would I have to take it to a professional to have repaired? I've checked all areas I could without pulling it apart and I've found nothing. I've even reseated ram chips and seem to still have no luck.

Hello Lunartiger, i have one suggestion. My 4 year old toshiba satellite has had the same problem (almost.....). It would not boot or format. the hard drive's running sound was weird. It would do tic-tic-tic... instead of the normal chirrrrrrr.... I thought the hard drive was broken . So i went to a computer shop and replaced its original toshiba hard drive with a cheap refurbished Fujitsu hard drive. It's been working well(maybe faster) since then. If your hard drive sounds different then before, consider buying a new one. search the web for your laptop's motherboard to see where the CMOS bettery is. I used irisvista.com for my laptop but they might not have hp laptops there

Hp pavilion dv9000 takes a long time to get past the bios screen. It won't boot of dvd either??

Check BIOS boot options and assign local hard drive as first for faster boot. This is also where you set CD\DVD as first to boot from disc. Look for F Key press on start up. It will be shown on screen. These can vary.

Many HP machines also have a boot menu option during boot. Again an F key and may vary.

It seems there is no booting as the memory is not responding or the hard disc is not booting up. Please check on the back up CMOS button cell battery on the back side of the laptop. replace if the voltage is low.
Also remove and reset the memory, if not you need to take consensus to know if this can be the hard disc, memory or the motherboard.

Describe your HP Pavilion dv9000z 17" Notebook Laptop PC PC Notebook Problem it won't boot up, it lights up but nothing else

Does it make a beeping sound when you turn it on? If it does try this:
Turn it off and take the battery out for about 2 minutes. Put the battery back in and press the power button to turn on. Immediately tap the F8 key on your keyboard. This will bring you to the advanced boot options. Choose last known good configuration.
If that doesn't work you may also try choosing system restore in the advanced boot options and follow the instructions. Note that a system restore brings the computer setting back to a previous restore point.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,

check by removing the battery then put it back again power it on, or without battery power it on directly then check, if still the same problem, the fault is in the motherboard of the laptop, better take it the service center or consult some technician in your area

My mom has a Pavilion 513n desktop. At boot up it

you're receiving a "No POST" issue. It could be any base component in your system. Strip it down to the bare basics. Power supply, motherboard, RAM, CPU, fans. HDD. Then start removing those components until you receive an error message. You'll be able to figure out which part needs replacing from that.
