Unit goes into protect mode

At first the unit (secondhand) worked fine, but the next day, it went into protect mode after about 10 seconds. I unplugged everything and it still does it. Is there aanything I can do at home to diagnose? Thanks! Steve

    Swongman update:

In the true spirit of DIY, I took off the cover and vacumed out the inside parts, replaced the cover and reset the unit by holding down the F/P button as described in the manual.

So far so good! No protect mode so far.

Just need to keep my fingers crossed!

Not unless you know how to troubleshoot solid state electronics. If you disconnected the speakers and the unit still goes into the protect mode, most likely you have a short in one of the power output stages. Good Luck

most of the receivers come with a cooling fan inside see if its working they usually work when you turn the volume up,, if its working that means you are playing it to loud if you lower the volume a little it will play just fine..( if the fan inside is not working thats the reason it goes into protect mode and it means you must have it repaired,, it goes into protect mode to prevent furter damage to the unit or the speakers,,

Sylvania 6842THG won't turn on. the tv red light displays when you push the power button you hear a click and then 5 - 10 seconds it goes back off

I have been having the same issue. I unplug the TV for 10 minutes and it usually works fine. I moves all of my A/V plugs to a single power strip and that helped a lot. Since then, the TV went into protection mode only once in 2 weeks. Next, I will use a power strip that includes the cable protection.

Roady 2 signal goes in and out....

We've been having the same problem with our Roady XT unit at the office. Sometimes I think it's possessed because it goes in and out, changes to the mute mode, and sometimes turns itself off. Just got another Roady XT unit today. It played fine, then went into the mute mode. Called XM and they told me to reset unit to factory default. It's fine at the moment.

Protection mode

The protect mode with nothing connected indicates that the output transistors for one or more channels are shorted. These will need to be checked and replaced. This is a simple repair for an experienced audio shop, Figure about $10 for each output transistor and add in another $10-$15 for misc parts that may also be smoked.

JVC HX-C6 goes directly into "Protect Mode".

I received a reply promptly from JVC to check power connections for shorts. O course I had already done that. So as a last resort, I pushed the power switch on and held it for maybe 10 seconds. It seems to have reset the unit, and it's playing fine. Best of luck, hope you all read this and it works for y'all. AJ

Stuck on standby

Unit is in protect mode there are a few problems that can trigger protect mode the most common is blown channel (shorted outputs). Sometimes one of the 15v regulators may go bad causing imbalance of supplys triggering protect mode. Also sometimes a bad solder connection could cause unit to go into protect also. I work for Denon authorzied repair center in Michigan if your nearby and Shipping to Michigan is economical let me know [email protected]

AUDIOBAUN A8002T Car Audio

add doide from the battery to the unit, 2 doide should help that.
1 connected to the positive, an 1 connected to the negative. 5-10 amperes is ok. check for the polarity. and try to take off the ground of the unit then try it.
