Question about JVC KD-S570 CD Player

1 Answer

Faceplate won't connect

I have the KD-S570 in my boat. The radio only works sporadically, unless I press on the faceplate. It appears to be firmly locked in place, but apparently the connectors are not making contact. Assuming I have properly connected the faceplate (is there a trick to it?) I would appreciate any suggestions. As it stands the radio is unusable. Thanks. Bob

Hi,

There are possibly three (3) ways of making sure that there is contact between the faceplate and the unit's frontend:
1. normally, what it would take would be cleaning thoroughly and a light application of WD40 to the mating contacts;
2. slightly bend out the elbow type pins. This should be done carefully so as not to overdo and bend it out of place; or
3. solder a thin layer of soldering lead on top of the flat contact points to increase the contact height. Light/Low heat soldering iron must be use to prevent burning the plastic surroundings.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FIXYA.

wipe the connection where the face connects at i had the same problem and it works fine after cleaning the connection and i will guess the power light itself is still lights up and no other button lights or the screen itself if that is correct then u most likely just have moisture in the connections try wiping it with a dry soft cloth

Xbox wont turn on

Hi,
Your console should turn on when the eject button is pressed. Press the eject button on the front of your console.
If the console turns on when you press the eject button but not when you press the power button, the console faceplate might not be attached properly. To make sure that the faceplate is attached correctly, you should remove it and reattach it.
  • Position your console horizontally, as you would position a DVD player.
  • Unplug the power cord and any other cables connected to the back of your console.
  • While holding your console firmly, curl your fingers inside the oval USB door on the front of the console.
  • Push the faceplate away from the console with your thumb until the faceplate comes off.

Note You will need to use some force to remove the faceplate.
Once the faceplate is removed, look at the tabs on the back. If any of the tabs shown in red in the illustration below are broken, order a replacement faceplate by contacting Xbox Support.
If none of the tabs are broken, re-attach your faceplate by pressing it firmly until it clicks into place.Try to turn on your console again. If removing and reattaching the faceplate did not solve the problem contact the xbox support.
Thank you!

No display on faceplate unless I push on it

Three possible faults. Irst choice would be connector on radio you see when faceplate is removed may have some oxidation on pins. Sometimes with a small fine point file or dental pick you can try to scrape off any visible oxidation use caution not to bend any pins and be sure radio has no power . 2nd choice could be worn flex cable that connects to main p.c.b. and Third is chassis that keyboard connects to may be slightly bent causing a bad connection.
