The Sanyo DRW-1000 DVD Recorder / VCR Combo is in a safety mode and will not play DVD or VCR. I am able to watch tv and change channels with my tv remote but the Sanyo DRW-1000 DVD Recorder / VCR Combo remote will not work...batteries are OK.
Can you get to the SETUP menu? If you can, Without a disk in the machine, navigate to the lock Icon and enter 0,8,0,3. This should get you to a menu to set up hardware on your machine. Make sure that the DVD unit is an LG 04 or LG o4L (anything after the 4 or L is ok). save your settings and back out with the return button.

If you have not plug out your set for a while then i recommend to do now leave it for about 2 days then plug it in back if it does the same problem,then have a tech look at your set.good luck
