Question about Emerson PD6810 CD Boombox

2 Answers

Emerson PD6810 Purchased about 90 days ago. Radio works fine. Used in small office at low volume primarily playing a CD disk. CD quit working! The platter spins but the only sound is a repeating click from the speakers. The window shows two bars. The stop, pause or search buttons have no effect. From what I see in this forum, this appears to be a common problem. Does "Emerson" have any response or solution? Thanks

We are having the same problem with our PD6810. The radio works, but the CD player no longer make sound. There are two lines in the window. This is actually the 2nd system we have purchased. The first one quit working with in the first 90 days, it was exchanged at Wal-Mart. This one lasted about 4 months. What can be done? Or is a refund an option? I had to purchase another new system.

Unfortanatly, this is why Emerson only warranties these for 90 days, but I have heard and recommend that you contact Emerson and tell them you did not think that their product would break down after a mear 90 days and a lot of times, they will send you a new one, if you bug them enough. There should be a contact number in the owners manual. If you do not have the owners manual, go to: http://www.emersonelectronics.ca/emerson/en/home/ There is a contact link there. By the way, the problem you are having is a bad spindle motor or the laser optics are bad. Have you tried to clean the small laser lens off yet with a cotton swap and some good 90% or better alcohol? Good Luck

What format should I burn my cd-r to play on Emerson PD6810?

Stereos usually play mp3 formats. Burn it at the lowest speed you can. Some units are really fussy about the quality of the blank CD you use, so it may or may not work. 78 minute CD's instead of 80 minute ones usually work better.

I bought a used Emerson PD6810 Portable. It plays great but it won't play with batteries and I tested the batteries they are good. Any advice?

check for a switch at the back or pull the power lead out of the jack socket as some machines will not operate batteries and power at the same time

I have a electric/battery operated Emerson CD clock radio which works when plugged in. When I put new batteries in it won't play. Only plays with electricity. Help

You have to take the chord and disconnect it from the CD player.

If the chord is attached, but not plugged in, it still tries to run of the cable's power

sounds like your popping the breaker, after a while your speakers will go, theres just too much power for it to handle, take it to a car audio store and get them to test it, you may need new speakers

My built in cd player is stuck on (err) and wont play cds

your solution would be to go to a google search for 2001 chevy tracker and see if anyone has the same problem. also check the manual if you have one. can you get the cd out? if there is no cd in put in a cd cleaner disk and see what happens. hopes this helps.

CD PLAYER NOT WORKING

1. make sure you have the cord/batteries inserted the right way.
2. make sure that you have the power to the cd. which is slide the button to the cd, or put the button where the cd is..
3. open the cd
4. place the cd in with the label up
5. close the cd
6. on the front you should see the tracks that it has
7. if it does, just hit play and you should be able to hear the disk moving
let me know if this helps.
