Download the sansa updater and you will get the manual and Media
CONVERTER and any new firmware updates+ Recovery
Mode: download the update software and install then lock your sansa
hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power
button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer
Start the update software if it doesn't start automatic goto /start
/all programs /Sandisk/sansa updater/ sansa updater and start it up
manually... follow instructions on the updater and the sansa
I would recommend that you upgrade the firmware on the device..Once the firmware is update you shouldnt have any problems..To update the firmware follow the link below http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

if the Sansa View is like the Sansa e200, then holding the power button for 10 or 15 seconds will force shut down the player. If it still says "connected" when you turn it back on, it might be a defective player. (most likely a defective connection.)
