Question about Kenmore 24 in. 15932 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Dishwasher I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard Dishwasher. We use it very infrequently (like just on holidays when we have alot of extra people). It was installed about 2 months before I purchased my house, so I know that it didn't get much use before, either. It worked fine the first couple of years, but now it won't fill with water. It heats up and sounds like it is working, but then the dishes just came out with the food baked on from the heat! Once I tried by manually filling it with water and that is fine. I'll admit, I'm not at all handy, but I can't afford to get a repair person out and I'm hoping to regain use of it. Any suggestions?

The water inlet valve is one of: 1.) electrically dead 2.) clogged with debris or: try this...unscrew the water inlet hose (after you turn off the water supply)...then clean the conical-shaped debris screen that you may find just at the entrance to the hose.

Have a kenmore ultra wash quiet Guard 3 was working good now have no power at all to dishwasher un plugged it and plugged it back in even tried the Breaker still no power what so ever what's wrong

There are a couple of possibilities. To test first unplug the unit for safety. then you must disassemble the door. Inside the door you will find the computer and attached to the computer you will find a thermal fuse. Testing that fuse would be my first check and if it is good checking the computer and door switches would be next. This would be best done by an authorized repair company. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=kenmore+dishwasher+replacing+the+thermal+fuse&view=detail&mid=FD3B9503B85F5329C756FD3B9503B85F5329C756&FORM=VIRE

My kenmore quiet guard My partially fills and therefore does not clean. any suggestions

Possibly low water pressure; possibly a clogged inlet screen on the inlet valve; possibly a bad inlet valve (replace it).

Why are there no lights on my Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 3 dishwasher?

So I would guess you can't get it to work at all? It could be the circuit which is inside the door....I would never suggest anyone fix these things themselves. It's always fairly expensive but worth it for peace of mind knowing a job professional done.

I see the pressure tower for a Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard dishwasher laying in the bottom of the dishwasher. I've just rented the house and haven't used the dishwasher yet. Does this pie

No, the designers put it in there for a reason; it won't work as well without it, as it would with it in. Probably the mounting tabs are broken or sprung. A new tower isn't very expensive. You can probably get one from SearsPartsDirect.com, RepairClinic.com, EasyApplianceParts.com, or AppliancePartsPros.com.

Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

Smelly dishes from Kenmore Ultra Wash

If you post the model number of your dishwasher plus its approximate age (in years) I can help more.

But the most common cause is a weakening pump motor. On many dishwashers, the wash pump motor is also the drain motor. Replacing that motor / pump assembly will solve the problem. While you are replacing the pump, check the heating element to confirm that it is not shorted out or broken.

For now, add a cap full of bleach to the water _after_ the initial dishwasher fill cycle ends and the wash cycle begins. White vinegar would also work, but this will not fix your problem.

Good Luck!

The IRONY of my Quiet Guard!! SO LOUD!!!!

Yes the wash arm can be removed to get to the sump area. Take the model number for your dishwasher and enter it into a site like partselect.com. There you can get a blown up diagram of the components that need to be removed to get to the cause of the grind noise. Usually a seed or some other hard object has found its way down there.

That looks more like the serial number. Check again to confirm the model number.
