Question about Fedders A7DH65B2A Dehumidifier

1 Answer

Dehumidifier I have a 3 year old maytag dehumidifier, which stopped collecting water several months ago. It was left on while we were away and developed ice, but also wasn't collecting water before that. The fan runs, the condenser(or whatever you call it) is cold when it is running, etc. Unfortunately, I am reading online that many others with the same item say that theirs quit after about 2 years, plus they are getting screwed by Maytag and Fedders regardless of the 5 year parts and labor warranty. Can you help?

If the fins feel cold then you should be collecting condensate. so try this: remove the outer shell to access the fins. with a garden hose, spray the fins off thoroughly. you may see a lot of dust and line that was clogging the air flow.

Fill light on and beeps but holding tank is empty

If it is like mine, the plastic part attached to the float in the collection bucket is broken and no longer actuates the switch that indicates the collection bucket (holding tank) is full. When I checked several years ago, the replacement part was no longer available. I used tape to keep the switch in the position that allowed the dehumidifier to operate and attached the hose connector to allow the condensate to drain. The collection bucket isn't needed anymore with this arrangement.

Dehumidifier' problem

1. Very few companies manufacture their own dehumidifiers. 2. Due to cost concerns, the coils are made of steel (not something like stainless steel) and will rust / corode, causing refrigerant leakage, often times after only a couple of seasons. 3. Maytag is not the Maytag of 15 years ago. They cheapend their product to lower cost, looking for increased sales, and have been bought out by Whirlpool.

Maytag Dehumidifier Model M7DH45B2ARevA Runs but doesn't collect water.

call 1-866-629-8241. they are no longer honoring the warranty because the maker of the dehumidifier, fedders, went bankrupt. if you have time on your warranty, they will send you a prorated check. we had two months left on ours and we got a check for $14 and change.

Dehumidifier

if it does not get cold anymore, then a freon charge is necessary, provided the compressor was not damaged from "left it on for a long time once and found that ice had developed on it. I know that being left on could cause a problem"

Everything works, but does not collect water

I have the same dehumidifer - make and model. I bought it less than a year ago. It too runs fine, but now collects no water. Did you ever discover how to fix the problem?
