Try changing the needle
rethread the machine top and bobbin
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly
also make sure the bobbin is turned the right way
it's also possible that the machines timing needs to be checked

You may have the bobbin case in wrong.  I have this machine, and I know that it is really easy to put the bobbin case in wrong.  Try taking it out and making sure that the little stop is in the front and it is seated down in there and able to wiggle back and forth.  My experience with this machine, until the other day when my cat knocked mine off the table and knocked something out of alignment, is that it just works.  Any time mine hasn't worked, it has either been dirty, needing oil, threaded wrong or the bobbin case wasn't seated right.  In other words, it has always been my fault.

SOURCE: how to thread the bobbin on a singer simple sewing machine

Drop-in bobbin: Note: thread must change direction when entering bobbin shuttle notch. Usually bobbin will turn counter-clockwise when threaded properly.

1. hold bobbin so that the tail of thread is facing to left.
2. drop bobbin into bobbin shuttle.
3. pull thread toward you.
4. guide thread into notch and pull to left so that slot engages thread.
5. pull thread diagonally across shuttle toward back of machine.
6. draw bobbin thread up through needle plate with threaded needle.

SOURCE: singer 5525 sewing machine knots

You can go here, search 5525, and download or purchase an instruction manual for your machine, if you have misplaced the one that came with it. It looks like there are some available as downloadable pdfs for free and some physical ones for $15. https://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html

Also, Singer has just installed new Q&A features on their website. You can go here: http://new.singerco.com/products and look for your particular model or machine category. At the bottom of the product page, you can post Questions for singer experts and other community members to answer!

Good luck!

I have a futura ce 150 and my bobbin thread won't catch

Are you able to bring the bobbin thread to the top of the needle plate, but it's skipping stitches, or you can't "catch" the bobbin thread to start sewing at all.

If you can't "catch" it at all, your machine's hook is no longer synchronizing, and you will need to have it retimed by a technician. The good news is, timing is not something that is unique per manufacturer, which means ANY sewing machine technician should be able to do it.

My singer 7470 i start to sew and clicks and bunches the cotton then the bobbin catches on the hook

try changing the needle
make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way in the bobbin case
make sure the top thread has not come off the thread take up lever
if these suggestion don't help then the machine needs to be checked to see if it needs some type of adjustments

Singer 4623 bobbin thread won't catch

Hi! Did you by chance, change your needle? If so, make sure you have the flat side of the needle shaft facing the correct direction. If the needle isn't in all the way or the flat side of the shaft facing the right way, the bobbin thread won't pick up.

Let me know if this helps, ok?

My sewing machine keeps getting jammed when sewing. the top stitch keeps getting tangled in with the bobbin thread and jamming up the machine.

Hello,
Here are a couple of things to try.

* Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your
bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and re-thread your bobbin.

* Change your bobbin
There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you
sew.

* When you start to sew a seam, grasp the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back
and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting
caught in your machine.

I hope this helps.

Singer 5525 sewing machine knots up thread on underside of fabric after three stitches

most commonly this is from incorrect threading top thread. Check manual for threading path or follow threading path usually marked by arrows on machine

Im pretty sure i have my singer 5525 threaded right but i think the bobbin is wrong but when i try to sew the top looks fine but the bottom is a thread mess an the thread keeps breaking

angle the bottom might be a mess but it is the top thread that
you see balled up .Pull the top thread and make sure there is tension on it ,if not check the thread is between the discs and there is nothing else between them .if this is ok there is something stopping the top thread from being pulled back up
through the needle plate to form a good stitch,if you can turn by hand and watch where it is catching you might be able to solve it.
