Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-U40 Digital Camera
I get vertical streaks that continue for some time, and the image will not focus. This is an intermittent problem, and I've tried changing batteries, etc. Does the small rechargeable button battery need to be replaced? I've had the camera for 3 years. If it's time to get a new one I guess I will...
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:

Certainly change the button battery to see But I suspect it is an internal failure and time for a new camera

Intermitent streaks. When I turn on the first few pics are OK, then steaks appear on the image.
