Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Cant connect my Numark PT-01 to my Numark DM950 mixer

I recently bought a Numark DM950 mixer and i dont know how to connect my two PT-01 turntables into it. I tried to connect one of the turntables with a dual RCA to dual RCA plug but it didnt work.

What do you mean it didn't work? What happened? Are you getting no sound, did the plugs not fit? Please be more specific.

If you are not getting any sound, make sure you connected to the LINE input of the mixer - the PT01 has Line Level outputs, so you CANNOT connect it to the Phono input, as the signal will be too hot for the mixer - so make sure it is in the LINE INPUT. Also make sure the toggle switch on the mixer is set to LINE. There is nothing else to this set up, raise volumes, and that's it. It's very simple.

I just put 12v through my dm950 mixer, it should be 9v is there an internal fuse or am i screwed? Thanks

Parts for that turntable are nearly impossible to find. As far as I know, Pacific Parts is the only place that stocks these kind of parts.

Home stereo audio problems

Could be a bad patch cord, a setting on the mixer, a faulty mixer (unless it works ok with other amps), or a dirty control on the Sony amp if it has analog controls. Have you tried connecting other sources to the Sony?

Well, it's not that hard to set up. What do you need help with? If you want to know how to connect:

1) The CD units go into the back of the mixer - in the CD / LINE INPUT - Left side on CD / LINE INPUT 1 and Right side to CD / LINE INPUT 2

The output of the mixer - MASTER OUT - goes to the INPUT of your stereo, amplifier, or receiver's LINE INPUT connection.

That's it. Press PLAY on your CD players, and raise the faders/volumes, and your all ready to go.

Open Questions:

Yamaha cdx-396 cd player not spinning or reading disc. So the first problem i had was tray not opening. After a bit of tinkering i got it open and it soon became apparent that the problem was laser module not clamping down, and on this player that is done mechanically and i just synced the gears and that problem is fixed, now the laser clamps down when ejecting and up for playing. Now to my actual problem (i included previus part because i probably screwed something up there)... When putting in a disc, i get the same result as when i try to play something without actually inserting any disc, track 0 at 0:00. Now i think it is trying to tell me the infamous "no disk" error, just the display doesn't have such a function. I also can very much see that the disc is very much not spinning, and clicking sounds can be heard. I think that is the laser trying to focus. So i did all i knew for and cleaned the diode and adjusted the voltage, but to no avail.

A/B right channel has no sound in DSP modes. Channel works in analog mode (AM/FM radio). All other channels work fine, indicating a problem with the DSP card. Can card be repaired or replace only?
