CD writing Why samsung Combo Drive does not write any multi-speed CD also with 52x speed? It writes maximum with 32x speed. Why is it so? Is there any solution for writing with 52x speed?

What does it say on the front flap 52x? If 32x is as fast as it will go then thats it. In reaality whats all this fixation with speed best disks are written sloooow ;-)

you have either one of these ..

5187-5619 = DVD-ROM/CD-RW combination drive - 48X CD-R write, 32X CD-RW rewrite, 48X CD-ROM read, 16X DVD-ROM read

EL436-69001 = 48X DVD-ROM CD-R/RW optical drive - 48X read, 32X read, 48X read, 16X max write speed

make sure you buy CDs or DVDs which are speed compatible to your optical drive or COMBO drive speeds

if you are busying compatible speed CD media, then take some compressed air (can) and clean the drive bay and inside the optical drive area, to dedust it .

go to this site and review all the related sites .. read carefully and try to figure out what the possibility (issue) is .

Not all "blank" disks are alike.
Some support only '4X' or '8X' writing-speed.
So, buy blank disks that support '48X' writing-speed.

Not all DVD-writers are alike.
Some support only '4X' or '8X' writing-speed.
Upgrade to a DVD-writer that supports '16X' or '32X' writing-speed.

Not all USB ports are alike.
USB 1.1 ports support 11Mbits/second,
while USB 2.0 ports are about 10 times as fast.
Check that your USB device is connected to a USB 2.0 port, not a USB 1.1 port.

Acer Internal DVD RW Drive not working for "written" dvds.

The quality of the writable CD can make a big difference, and maybe run a CD driver cleaner as well.

Another thing to try is to write the CD at a lower speed, not the driver maximum, this can help with less quality CDs as well.

It seems that what you have is a combo drive only :(
it only recognize DVD reading. no matter what driver you used. need to buy a dvd writer/ that said can write dvd.

Might be difference of Writing Speed ..like 52x ..I'm not sure about this. Just giving you an idea.
