Question about Braun Activator 8595 Electric Shaver
After fully charging my 8590, I start shaving and it cuts off without warning. The charge LEDs may all lit. It just stops, then I re-charge it and works for a while, then stops. It seems to work when attached to the mains. Also, the cleaner no longer recognises when the shaver requires cleaning. Please advise.

SOURCE: Braun electric shaver will not charge.
Batteries can be replaced in most Braun shavers, while leaving the
current circuit board intact. Braun didn't intend for this to be done,
and as such does not sell the batteries alone (they include them on the
circuit board). There are some aftermarket Braun shaver parts sellers
that can supply just the batteries, but they charge a rather high
price. Go to a website like "onlybatteries.com" and you can get AA
NiMh flat top batteries that will fit your Braun for less than half the
market price.
As for disassembly, it varies depending upon your shaver. Visit
"http://web.archive.org/web/20041025223715/63.230.9.155/braun/Srv_Man/SHAVER/"
for the older service manuals. More modern day ones can be found by
Google searching.
Of course, if you're not comfortable doing soldering, then you'll have
to replace the batteries along with the circuit board. Suppliers like
"shaveroutlet.com" provide these parts, as VtToolMan mentioned.

SOURCE: The braun 5510 shaver.. rechargeable or not
If working properly, model 5510 will work either from the internal rechargeable batteries or directly from the cord. If your shaver no longer recharges, it needs to have the rechargeable batteries replaced.

To open model 8985 you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out.
If replacement parts are required, you will find all components for this model at shaveroutlet.com

SOURCE: My Braun shaver 8585 has died. Foil, cable, box,
If I understand correctly, the shaver is dead but all other components are in good condition. If this is the case, you should consider ordering a replacement lower unit. See shaveroutlet.com link below

Newer models made by Braun do not use all the same parts as your shaver so this would be a good way to go
