Our cd player would not open and did not have any sound. Ours did the same and it has happened twice to us . The first time we checked everything and my husband took out the fuse and wiped it off and put it back in. It worked again. Today it did the same when I went to play a cd. We took out the fuse and placed it back and did not work. We did all we could do that we could think of and my husband again took out the fuse again and wrapped in with aluminum foil like they did back in the days and put it back in. WOW !!! it worked. The fuse didn't look like it was burnt but I guess it was somewhere. This solved our problem but am gonna get a new fuse. Hope this saves you time and money.

Maybe if you ask it to OPEN the tray as soon as you turn it on and leave it that way it might move on to other functions. A hands-on tech would have to lay hands and eyes on it otherwise.
