I have and love this machine...pull out the large side knob on the right side of machine and switch the bobbin to the right side on the metal winder at the top.you will hear a little pop on those 2 steps...put a thread thru the hole in your bobbin and give your foot pedal some pressure....really easy

I have a Singer 99-13 with knee control. I wound bobbins but can't get it to sew. Is there something that turns it over to sewing? Thanks. Karen

On the 99-13, you wind the bobbin with the balance wheel in the stop motion position. Thus during bobbin winding, the needle mechanism is disconnected from the rest of the machine. You probably need to tighten the set screw on the balance wheel. The screw is in the center of the balance wheel on the right hand side of the sewing machine. Hold the balance wheel while you turn the screw away from yourself. (You hold the balance wheel and turn the screw over towards you for winding.)

The manual for the 99-13 is available from Singer on their manuals page: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/9d4377811af9ffbbaa1b8efd50ea962c142a66d9.pdf . Look at figure 5 on page 7 (page 4 of the PDF) and then page 10-11 (page 6 of the PDF) for the bobbin winding directions.

I hope this helps.

Hello. i have the memory craff 7000 janome but i can go back to normal sew after i use the bobbing winding, i don not what i can do. thank

I don't know your machine but on most you have to move something to wind a bobbin, you have possibly forgotten to put the bobbin winder back into sewing position.

I just inherited another Huqvarna (this is a model 630). It was working great until I wound a bobbin on it. After I removed the filled bobbin the machine won't move the needle up and down (but the bobbin...

I do not know the Husqvarna Viking 630. However, I have used the Viking 6690 and it has a similar on-the-side bobbin winding routine. I suspect that you failed to move the bobbin winding mechanism back into the sewing position. Look closely at the area around the bobbin winding spindle. It looks like there is a lever below the spindle. Does this need to be moved or rotated? Double check the steps in the manual and check that you did the opposite steps of preparing to wind the bobbin.

On the 6690, you pull out a knob after removing the bobbin. (You push this piece in and put the bobbin onto the now exposed spindle for winding.)

I hope this helps.

I have a self winding bobbin on my singer model number 4663 and I don't know how to pick up my bobbin thread.

isn't this info in the manual? If you don't have one call singer and purchase one because it's not in the download area. And a search for the model 4663 brings up nothing.

Problems winding bobbins on my singer 4622 sewing machine

I have two possible solutions:
1. you have the wrong bobbin and it doesn't grip the winder.
2. the small spring on the winder spindle is missing or bent, it is what applies pressure to the bobbin for winding.

good luck!

Don't go directly from the thread spool to the bobbin.
You have to go via the thread quide, (near the end of the head at left side) and under the small roller.

Pass your thread to the bobbin turn your thread 3 turns to the right, clockwise,
then pass the end of the thread, under the coming thread and give it another 3 turns to the right.
For better results, always remove old thread from bobbin before filling it up.
Push the thread winder lever to lock the bobbin.
Start winding slowly. If the thread is loading in the down position,
put your finger under the thread between the bobbin and the the thread quide, untill you see that the thread is feeding evenly.
