Processor upgrade I have an old pentium 3 400mhz pc with an asus cusi m 533 motherboard.i would like to know if i could still upgrade my processor.Im planning to add a dvd writer and a video capture card to it so i can convert my video 8 tapes to dvd. However, the technician said a dvd writer needs at least 700 mhz.If the processor is upgradable, what processor would be compatible with my motherboard?

The ASUS A8M2N-LA is the motherboard used by HP for the new D4500e AMD AM2 PC.
Here are the details: Motherboard manufacturer's name: ASUS A8M2N-LA HP/Compaq name: Nodus-GL8E CPU/Processor Socket: AM2 Supports AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 X2, and Sempron processors Front-side bus (FSB) 2000 MegaTransfers/second Chipset GeForce 6150 LE chipset BIOS features Award brand system BIOS Keyboard combination to used to enter BIOS: F1 Form factor Micro-ATX: 9.6 in X 9.6 in Memory Four 240-pin DDR2 DIMM sockets, Supports PC 4200 (533 MHz) and PC2 5300 (667 MHz) DDR2 DIMMs, non-ECC memory only, unbuffered Maximum HP/Compaq approved memory is 4 GB* PS - as you can see the rangeis 533 - 667 MHz. I would suggest you call HP support and ask if it will support 800 MHz,
564 mhz means it is a Pentium 3 or equivalent. This also means that the motherboard does not support DDR2 RAM which is exclusively for Socket 775 and Pentium 4 chipsets. Pentium 3 usually support SD-RAM, also but very rarely DDR1 RAM. Sorry but DDR2 will not work in your PC.

1) your Intel pentium 4 3.2 GHZ cpu socket 478 processor #sl7nb what's FSB?( see on the chip surface, if 533 FSB can use but 800FSB could not match your motherboard if which is not support 800 FSB. that's why no display.
2) check RAM stick speed, try to increase a level, for example 266 to 333.
