Doesn't run, starts a rattle noise when plugged in then stops quickly.

Was working before putting in storage for a year, transported on its side in the car for about a mile getting it back home, don't know if that does harm to it or not.

YES! You need to wait at least 24 hours before running the unit if you laid it down. It needs time for the oil to run back down to the compressor. Keep me posted.

Noises

After 15 years of service I imagine it will be hard to get the parts you want to repair it.. Newer machines may not dry as quickly as the older types but they use less power to do so.. Consider a new machine for the sake of the economics of the problem

When car is stopped in drive it makes a rattling noise really loudly.

The rattle is caused because the rpm is lower. When stopped in drive with one foot on the brake, press the throttle down slowly until the vibration stops and the noise goes away. Cause? Weak or bad motor mounts, loose bolts or parts.

My mtd yard machine (leaf blower) started billowing white smoke. I shut it off and now it won't start again.

First check the oil level. If its overfilled correct it. Then remove the spark plug and turn the engine over. Replace the spark plug.
Start the engine. Use a prime ( squirt carb cleaner into carb) if you need to. It may start smoking again. Thats OK as long as you know there is oil in it and you dont hear any strange noises. Let the unit run for about 5-10 minutes and see if the smoke clears up. Once it quits smoking stop it and check the oil.

Motor rattle on start up

I've never heard a Capacitor make a noise, but there's a lot of things I haven't heard, I have however, heard the start up windows make a noise when they start. One type pulls the start up relay in for the start up windings and can cause a noise sometimes. I wouldn't get in a big hurry to buy a new Refrigerator. Most of the time they do that for years and still work. Just guessing that that is the problem, have to hear it to know for sure.

1998 ford contour 2.0 4 cyl automatic. made rattling noise in engine then stopped running.turns over but will not start. put on obd2 reader and came up with no codes

Does it seem to turn over quickly? If so i'd suspect the timing belt broke considering the rattling noise heard before it stopped.

Refrigerator not cooling

My fridge and freezer just stopped cooling all of a sudden. I hear the compressor running and every couple of min there is a clicking noise. Is there a reset switch or something that I can do to start it working again? The lights are working but the freezer and fridge are room temp.
