Sounds like moisture in heating element. Try removing rear cover over element and see if it needs drying out.

Hotpoint Aquarius WDL540 Washer/Dryer - The machine runs a cycle up until a fast spin - then trips the electric.

The issue with the Hotpoint Aquarius WDL540 Washer/Dryer tripping the electricity during the fast spin cycle could be due to several factors. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the drum balance: Make sure the load is evenly balanced in the drum. If the load is unbalanced, it can cause the drum to spin unevenly, which could trip the electricity.
  2. Check the motor: If the motor is not functioning properly, it could cause the machine to trip the electricity during the fast spin cycle.
  3. Check the belt: If the belt is loose or damaged, it could cause the drum to spin unevenly, which could trip the electricity.
  4. Check the suspension: If the suspension is worn or damaged, it could cause the drum to spin unevenly, which could trip the electricity.
  5. Check the wiring: If the wiring is damaged or frayed, it could cause a short circuit, which could trip the electricity.
If you're unable to resolve the issue with the above steps, it's possible that the machine may need to be repaired. In this case, you may want to consider contacting Hotpoint customer support for information on repair options.

My hotpoint tcd970 dryer keeps tripping the electric why

I presume that you mean that your breaker is tripping.... The first step is to replace the breaker and USE THE SAME SIZE, exactly, or you will become a fire hazard. Breakers eventually start tripping EASIER, rather than less often, which is a safety matter.

IF replacement does not resolve the issue, you need an electrician to investigate what the next step is.

An amp reading will indicate if the dryer is loading higher than it should...

Hotpoint Aquarius condenser dryer model no. TCL770 . Switches on ok and can select program etc but as soon as I try to start the program it trips the electric. Any help please as to what is causing it and...

we had this, and it turned out to be the plug getting damp at the back of the dryer due to inadequate ventilation at the back of the dryer...we pulled the dryer away from the wall slightly, allowed the plug to dry out for a few days and the problem was solved.

Hotpoint tcl770 condencer tumble dryer, just out of warantee. when turn on and start it keeps tripping the electrics. changed plug fuse etc, tried in various sockets but keeps tripping the system???

internal problem, either heater coil or sensor or motor, you will need to get it checked, but don't plug it in again, as short circuits on high current machines can be dangerous.

Hi there I am trying to replace a belt on my old dryer how hard is it

If you have a NVL333EY which you posted under, I'd rate the repair a 4 on a scale of 1 - 10 in difficulty. That Hotpoint model is actually manufactured by Frigidaire / Electrolux and sold through GE as a Hotpoint. (Hey, it's a global economy, right?)
Disconnect power to the dryer. Use a putty knife to push in the seem of the front panel with the dryer top to release the dryer top, allowing it to swing back. You may be able to use a phillips to remove the screws holding the front panel, but a #2 square drive works much better. Slip new
134503600 belt around drum from front. Put front panel back on. Remove 4 screws (again the #2 square drive works best) holding the back access panel at lower left back side to allow you to finish belt installation. Belt grooves touch the drum. The worst part is keeping the spring from falling off when you put the belt tensioning wheel on. After you have the belt installed, give the drum a turn by hand to make sure everything is OK before you close up the top and reconnect power.

Hotpoint condenser dryer ctd00

change the drive belt. evidently the belt has stretched to the point the belt tensioning device can no longer do its job. when you change the belt make a diagram of which way the belt is reaved through the tensioning device. if you don't you'll be back here asking how to arrange the belt.
