Installed a Cisco RV180, as gateway behind my fiber modem (DK ISP: WAOO) supplying a 30/30mbit connection. my network consist of a number of units. smartphones, PCs Macs, Linux. Since the RV180 was installed i have not had a descent browsing experience, and the connection speed shows around 10/7mbit. I have prior to this post, tried to change the setup from gateway to router, which just killed any connectivity that was left. changing MTU, disabling firewall settings, going static IPs on all units, disconnecting switches, and other things two. Nothing have worked out this issue. Finally i can tell, that the internet connection worked fine, moments before using my old Linksys WRV200, and when connecting this again. (this one crashes frequently so it have to go) oh and the VPN tunnels are perfect on the RV180. thanks for your support

Greatings !
I put WORKGROUP within the domain name field of the Network tab.
Speedtest moved from 10Mb to 100Mb that is the maximum speed provided by my cableBox (Numericable).
Very good
Thanks a lot to Kasper Mikkelsen
SOURCE: configure WRT300N wireless Router to connect internet using PPPoE
Often the nets and subnets are NOT the same.. ie The Fixed connection often uses 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, however sometimes the wifi is setup 10.1.1.1, or 10.0.0.1 etc, have you checked this? Esentially tho ya router is an "Acess Point" and ya Lappy etc is ya "Client" the links below has a lot of tutorials to help have a look. http://portforward.com/routers.htm http://portforward.com/guides.htm

solved the problem. Had to set DSL modem to bridge mode and then set the router PPoE, provide ISP name and password information and bingo! works!!

SOURCE: Cisco VPN Client won't connect
You'll want to enable the VPN transparency. In the router's administrative web interface, click the Security Tab, then the VPN Passthrough sub-tab. Cisco VPN's usually use IPSEC, so enable the IPSEC Pass-through and click "Save Settings". If this doesn't work enable the PPTP Pass-through as well and give that a shot.
SOURCE: Router Connectivity
It will be one of two things or both - either your computer is not
setup for DHCP or your router is using the same IP address as your ISP
or both.
To check ISP IP address connect your computer to your modem then: from start => run => CMD (hit enter after this)
a command window opens, type "ipconfig /all" without the quotes.
The line with "IP address" gives you your ISP IP addr.
Compare this with what you get from your router manual if they are the same then do the following:
To
configure your computer to use a DHCP IP address, go to the Control
panel => network connections => Properties (right click on your
default connection) => double click Internet protocol (From general
tab) => (a new window pops up) from the general tab ensure that
"obtain an IP address automatically" is selected.
To change the IP address of your router check your manual and do the following:
IP Addr => 10.10.1.1
Sub net mask => 255.255.0.0
Default gateway => IP address from your ISP
Make sure to the router is set to act as a DHCP server.
You should be up and running.

I have found a solution, the domain name under network(LAN) settings, must correspond to a work/HomeGroup on the network, it did instantly boosted my internet speed and browsing experience. Have yet to test it on all machines don't know if this helps outside the HomeGroup. i will update. Have to thank this post for helping me outhttps://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2...
I can now verify that pc's/mac ect. do not have to be on the same homegroup as the router to get the benefit of the full internet speed. But have found out that the Domain name needs to be the exact same as the homegroup name on the home group setup pc. my homegroup is was set up on a english win8 pc - everything worked well.. I then set up the HomeGroup on a Danish Win7, which acts as my server. The english pc's just see this as Homegroup, though it is named Hjemmegruppe on the win7. About the Rv180! On the Rv180 i had to change the Domain Name to Hjemmegruppe, then i again i had the full internet speed. Funny stuff!
