OKI c5150n I get an error that the printer cannot detect the C drum unit.
I installed new drums for all colors in my printer. Ever since installing these new drum units I continually get an error that the printer cannot detect the Cyan Drum unit. This also causes a paper jam. I have to open the top of the printer clear whatever paper is stuck at the point of the C drum, lift the C drum, open the front of the printer to clear any paper that may have fed and then close everything. Sometimes this clears it up for a few pages to be printed and sometimes I have to open the top again and lift the C drum and put it back in so that the printer can detect that it's there.
Is there are way to reset it? Could it be a defective drum unit? I tried contacting the company I purchased it from but never did get a response.
Any help is appreciated.

I had the same problem. I came across the 160 error after I moved drums around. My issue started with error code 161. which appears to be the Magenta drum. Moving it to other color locations gave me errors 160, 162, 163. 160, I assume, is the cyan cartridge, then 161 is the magenta, 162 is the yellow, and 163 is the black. In my case, the magenta was very dirty. I pulled it out, used an eraser from a #2 pencil to clean the contacts. Used the shopvac to clean toner power out of printer. Turned it back on and it worked.
This happened to me. It was caused by a bad "oki compatable" color cartridge. One time it ruined my drum. It was always the yellow color. Decide which cartridge is printing streaky. Remove it, bang it on the inside of a large plastic garbage can. Clean it. Reinstall it . If it still prints streaky throw it befor you ruin the drum. Replace it.
You need to replace the magenta drum. Just because there is life left; it's possible it is scratched. Also, take a cotton ball dip in alcohol and wipe the LED's off when the cover is open; those black things that are hanging down from the cover. Also, make sure your drums are installed in the proper spots (magenta in magenta slot). If the toner "rubs off" after it prints... then the fuser is defective.
problem might be with toner recycle coil which runs around the back of the belt unit. as the cyan unit is the furthest down the line if any blockages occur it can back up and lift the drum unit up. check the square opening of the recycle unit on the cyan end. Make sure you change waste toner unit when prompted or you might break a gear (big job)
