This is so frustrating when it happens, It's noramlly because of the reason that the disc is dirty or have recieved scratches.

You could try cleaning the disc, or you might have to concider getting a new copy.

what version is your psp now? usually nba 2k12 runs on version 5.50gen-3 up to 5.50 prometheus-4, if your system is running below on this version,it needs to be upgraded.

using a pandora battery and magic stick will possibly update your psp firmware.

Think this might be due to a corrupt game save, as I tried starting the game from the 'press start' command with the second controller, so I didn't login as my gamertag, and all was well. I'm waiting to see if this is the case though before I go deleting gamesaves...

It is most likely a glitch and will hopefully be patched later.
