Standard checks: If you are using Windows system up to Vista: Check all these:
Power cable, USB or LPT serial cable, the port to where you are printing in the printer properties configuration, (right click the printer icon) - (computers with multiple USB ports: unplug and plug into a different USB port and watch the printer icon change to ready in the computer/system/printers window- very subtle). Sometimes stored print commands from several days ago will begin printing.
Check cartridges, error light indications you can research on Google.

Do you have the full-featured software driver installed? (Installed before connecting the printer to the computer.) Then you have the option of initiating the scan from the computer or the buttons on the unit. (The HP Digital Imaging Monitor Windows System icon should be in your system tray. If the program has been closed, restart the HP Image Zone software or reboot the computer.) There is a Start Scan button on the printer which should launch the HP software. Alternatively, start the Image Zone software and there should an option to start the scan.
These directions will only work if the computer and printer are both on and communicating with each other. If you get an error, try a new USB cable and try using a different USB port. If using a USB hub, try connecting to the computer directly. (If using a print server, try a direct connection. Check if the print server supports bi-directional communication; many only support the print functions not the scan options.)
Error code:201 occurs due to USB conflict or software not running properly....
Solution#1: Take out the scanner from USB port... shut down the computer.... then restart the computer and plugin your USB plug in anyother USB port(not the ealier one).. Then check if that works.
Solution#2: Click on Start > Click on Run > Type Services.msc press ok.... on the services window check for "Still Image Service" right click on it and select properties .. then click on stop then start(if it is already stoped then click on start).... also make sure the Startup Type: Automatic....

1) Remove the Kodak printer and all its software. 2) Disconnect the USB cable from the computer. 3) Reinstall the entire software applications for the printer just as if you were installing it for the first time. 4) When asked to connect the printer .. Use a different USB port .. even if you have to switch something out .. but do this step irregardless.
Now what I want to know is .. 1) Can you print from the computer? 2) Black still "gone" ?
You have tried everything possible!. Try and reinstall the OS. If some dll files are corrupted, this will resolve it. You may have to reinstall all other software!
