Question about Samsung Napster YH-920 MP3 Player

Using Windows Media Player 11 or Real Player 10.5 to Transfer Music

Good advice 24 seven, now I am able to "safely" disconnect the YH-920 from my PC in Windows Media Player (I didn't know how to do so prior to your post). I still have the same problem, however, i.e., I'll sync (transfer) to my YH-920 some song files using Windows Media Player 11. I see it happening on both the Windows Media Player screen as well as the YH-920 screen. When finished, Windows Media Player shows that the YH-920 contains the song files I just synced (transferred). I click the applet as you suggested and am told by Windows Media Player that I can safely remove the YH-920 (the YH-920 screen now says "Disconnected"). I then remove the YH-920 from its base and the main menu appears on the YH-920. I select "Library", then "Artist" or "Albums" or "Tracks", etc. and the words "No results" appear on the YH-920 screen as if it contains no song files even though I know I just synced (transferred) them using Windows Media Player. So again, the only thing that allows me to hear music on the YH-920 is the FM Radio. Still frustrated and still looking forward to some more help. Thanks, Hank Jr

I have one of these too and it cannot be used with media player 11 as there are no updated drivers. Use media player 10 and you should have no problems.

Unable to transfer to mp3 player

Hi there,
Based on Philips SA6045 User's Guide, youou can transfer your media content in the following ways:

  • Using Windows Media Player 10 – Note: You cannot transfer all video files using this method. It is recommended to use Media Converter for Philips to transfer video files.
  • Using Windows Media Player 11 - Note: You cannot transfer all video files using this method. It is recommended to use Media Converter for Philips to transfer video files.
  • Using Windows Explorer - Note: While all files will transfer, they may not play back if the player does not support the format.

It is recommended that you use Media Converter for Philips to transfer your video content, and Windows Media Player (10 or 11) to transfer your music and pictures to the device. Use Windows Media Player (10 or 11) to transfer all video that you purchased online to the device.

How to record music from the computer with a SA2325 MP3 Player. Send me the steps to follow. Thanks

Hello,
Overview of online support for SA2325/02 ( GB ):
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SA2325/02&slg=en&scy=GB

Link to the user manual:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sa2325_02/sa2325_02_dfu_eng.pdf

Music files MP3 or WMA
Music transfer can be made seeing the player as a USB mass storage device in Windows Explorer, exploring the drives on "my computer": the player should show up as a drive letter with about 2 GB of memory.

The files must have the format and extension as shown on page 17 of the manual:
• Compression format: MP3 / mp3 (8-320 kbps
and VBR; Sample rate: 8, 11.025, 16,
22.050, 24, 32, 44.1, 48kHz),
WMA / wma (64-320kbps)
• ID3-tag support: Song title and artist name

Transferring songs from the computer to the player
After exploring the appropriate music files on the computer, the songs can be dragged and dropped to the memory of the player: read the blue
tips on page 11 of the manual.

Always disconnect the player safely after transfers, see point 3.4.1 of the manual on page 11.

Audio CD converting to mp3 / wma format: RIPPING
When wanting to convert audio CD's to files that can be played on the player, you could use Windows Media Player 11 or MusicMatch Jukebox using the RIP utility.

  • For WMP 11: update your Windows operating system.
  • When using XP MusicMatch Jukebox 10 can be downloaded from next site:
http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/MusicMatch_Jukebox/4-277-1.html
Right click on the download file under Soft32 Mirrors and select "Save target as..." Rember the download location for executing the file later, having the MusicMatch Jukebox installed.

Can't download music from Napster to YH-920

Move all the files to the windows media player. So the songs are listed in the media player. Then connect the device and use the sync option in the media player. There may also be a sync option in napster but I think the windows media player would work better.

Software

You maybe able to use Windows Media Player 10 or 11, if you want to try well connect your mp3 player to the computer now wait a few seconds then go to Windows Media Player ( if your using windows media player 10 i recommend you to update to media player 11 for better results but if not when your on Windows Meda Player look for a link called "Sync" when you've found it click on that.

Now your on "Sync" if should have found your mp3 player now just drag and drop music you wish to have on your mp3 player on the side panel where it's got a little image of an mp3 player.

Once you've added the music, safely remove the mp3 player like you normally would then see if the music has successfully tranfered.

Here is the new Windows Media Player 11 if you haven't got it already.

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful.
