Tape stuck and tv turns off

I have an important tape stuck in the VCR. When I turn on the TV it says it's ejecting the tape but nothing happens. After about 5 seconds the TV turns itself off. Is there any way to get the tape out without ruining it? I don't care about the TV or the VCR.

I have a Symphonic tv with vhs tape deck built in and a tape is stuck inside it shows eject on the screen when I turn the tv on then the tv shuts off I keep turning it on and hitting eject but can't get the tape out I want to keep the tape in working shape as it is a very hard to get old one I will try to open up the back and see if I can get it out if not I will take it to a repair shop and let them break the tv to get the tape out in whole for me .

With the set unplugged remove the back and extract the main board. You'll find a metal cover over the tape housing area that is easily removed by removing some screws holding it to the board area and manipulating some wired over it... You should then be able to see the tape and what's hanging it up. If you need to unwrap tape from the pinch roller or around the guides do so carefully. When it all looks free you can either manually crank the load motor assembly to eject the tape or put it back together enough to plug it in and press eject. If you do the later be VERY careful... Good Luck! Bill

Vhs tape is stuck and message reads "tape

Unplug the TV/VCR/DVD Combo from the main power for a couple of minutes, the unit may eject the tape at the power ON.
You can also try openening the unit, reset the loading posts and eject the tape by manually turning gears, motors etc..You have to know what you're doing otherwise, you will do more damage or get injured and don't forget HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL.

Funai tv/vcr combo has a tape stuck

It shuts off due to an error or mechanical problem, this is a safety feature. Sounds like the gears are worn/stripped and needs to be serviced/replaced. The tape can be remove by opening the unit and manually ejecting it if its important to you.

TV keeps turning off after 30 seconds

This is usually a sign that a function has not completed or a switch has stuck in an incorrect position. eject can only happen if the sensor (either optical or mechanical senses that a tape is present. The swich might be stuck or the sensor might be blocked or bad. You can open up the unit and try to determine if the sensors are not being blocked by any of the mechanical parts of the unit. You will need the service docs to show you where the components are located. I hope this helps. Shuttle83

Vcr trouble

this combo unit as far as i know has only one power source which is in the vcr unit. if the vcr has a problem it affects the tv likewise. i beleive u did removed the tape, but unfortunately you misaligned the mechanism of the vcr which will in turn sense an error causing the automatic shuts off of the vcr and likewise the tv. u need to bring it to a qualified service technician if u dont know anything about this.
