I have gone to the ASUS website but all the drivers they have are not for windows 8.
I need driver k50ij for win 8
help me please
Windows 8 is brand new and they may not have the drivers that you need for your computer on line. You may need to call them and ask them to send you a cd/dvd with the drivers for your computer. It is not always wise to upgrade your computer immediately when a new program such as windows 8 comes out. My advice to you is to reinstall your last windows back on your computer for now and if you want to upgrade to windows 8 check to see if all the drivers are available ahead of time, before you upgrade.

I have the same problem with my laptop Asus K50IJ, and apparently we're not the only ones. It seems that the only solution is manycam.com, as lifeframe utility or driver installations don't solve anything. Hope it helped!

If I may ask, is your window 7 OS is an authentic one? because normally this issue only happens to those OS that is not Authentic.
I would strongly suggest to contact your Laptop Manufacturer and ask them if the OS window 7 starter is an authentic one.
Then actually they will be the one to help in updating it as well. If you want I will be the one to provide the contact number of your manufacturer.

SOURCE: usb device not recognized, works only when plugged on hub
All PCs provides power supply via USB port. The power is controlled by electronic circuit. Sometimes when overloaded the circuit burns out (the last controlling transistor, actually). This does not prevent the data communication, because it is separated circuit. But if the device is not powered it cannot communicate. When you plug the USB device to powered USB hub, then all go right.
Are you able to use the USB ports with other USB-powered devices like USB sticks, mouses, cameras? If not, the mentioned circuit is burned out. If they work OK, then your internal USB hub provides less power current than needed. In both cases there is nothing to do. The circuit resides on the mainboard of the laptop and replacement is expencive. Use it with that external USB hub you have.
Testimonial: "that makes sense, although sad that i have to get a powered usb hub somewhere, although i wouldn't know which ones are powered or not, i have this hub that has 4 ports that wouldn't work so i assume that one's not powered. tried to look for small hubs but it doesn't say anything about being powered or not, it'll be quite expensive to buy and try as much as i can. can you suggest a small enough powered hub anywhere? thanks again :)"
SOURCE: asus k50ij wont boot
The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.
