Problem with continuing washing cycle

I need some help with my washing machine. I can turn the machine on and get the machine ready for a wash cycle. The machine fills with water but before it's ready to begin it doesn't. I have to go over and open the door and drop it so that it will continue sometimes only once but lately I have to open and close it several times. Any suggestions...the machine is not more than 2 years old.

I have the same problem. It finally started when I slammed the door down, but lately, it's been taking over 150 slams to get it to start. And now, I've slammed the door or hit the machine more time than that, and it still won't start. Any ideas? There doesn't seem to be a switch on the door.

Water continues to flow into machine when it is switched off

One of the main common reasons why a washing machine will continue to fill with water when it is turned off is due to a failed water inlet valve and the water inlet value needs to be replaced. This valve controls the flow of water into your washing machine that's required for both the rinse and wash cycles.

My washing machine fills up with water but does not continue the wash cycle. Sometimes when you slam the lid the washer will continue the wash cycle to the end. Other times the washer stays filled up...

Sounds like the lid safety switch is either out of adjustment, or needs replacement.

Most washers will fill with the lid open, but no continue a cycle where the drum or agitator spin, unless it senses the lid is closed.

1 year old Frigidaire front loading washing machine will only

Check the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Pay particular attention to the hot water side. Check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid and the valve assy will need replaced. I'll attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.
