Receiving faxes but a weird noise

Everytime we get a fax come through our machine makes a really loud noise. I think it has to do something with the rollers as the paper is coming through the machine. A couple of days ago we had a piece of paper stuck in the machine, when we pulled out the sheet of paper that is when we noticed the noise started.. We are able to send and receive faxes still. The noise is hard to decribe it kind of sounds like a dddddddd as the paper is coming through. What can I do to fix this or will I need someone to come look at?

Canon lc 810 fax has noisy df

The noise is relevant to the modem which has been installed in the equipment.
I don't think you will be able to lower down this noise.

When the fax is dialing it is very loud. How can I

There is a setting to adjust the fax volume. Press the User Tools button on the operation panel, and then on the touch screen press either Fax Features or Fax Settings, and then under the first tab (I think it's General Settings) there should be an option for volume adjustment. You can either turn the volume down or you can turn it all the way off.

Recieving fax error

It could be a bad drum unit. If the drum doesnt turn smoothly it will make a clicking or grinding noise since it is gear driven. Take out the drum and turn the gear with your thumb. turm towards you. If difficult Thats it. It also could be a fuser gear. good luck Lawrence
