Digital pictures have a red/pink tinge on the borders

As usual one fine day my canon A80 stopped behaving normal. I have started getting a reddish pink tinge on the top frame of most of the pictures. I have no idea what is the cause. I tried cleaning the lens externally. I tried using with the red eye/with out the red eye.. all combinations. Is this a common issue? Any help is appreciated thnx in adv paritosh

Thanks guys. I have noticed one thing that my video clips are showing all neat and clean. its only on the pics i am having the issue. Shouldnt the CCD or processor have same behavior ?
I ll check with a technician in any case. Its a 3 yr old camera, so no more warranty left..
    cheers

That is a known issue for some models of Canon digicam. Canon tech support will fix it for free regardless of its warranty status. The circuitry have cold solder or some wires got disconnected due to exposure to high temperature during operation or storage.

I have a Canon A80. Pictures turn out with a red/pink tint to them.

Check your white balance...it may be set to something other than "auto white balance".

Canon A80 camera-red tint and horozontlal lines on pictures

I had the same thing happen to me last November. Canon has a recall of sorts on a wide range of older cameras. Apparently there is an issue with the sensor. Canon will fix the camera free under this recall program.

Here is a writeup of my experience with Canon's customer support (good):

Reddish tinged photos

It might be a possible CCD defect , as usually the symptoms are odd colours in a photo hence your red tinge in your photos. Its quite expensive as it labour intensive to fix .Rather just buy another camera or you can try to solder another ccd from anotehr camera > look on ebay for parts (not recommended precise alignment needed).
