Ive tried every code I found for my sanyo tv, and none of them worked. Is there a way to have the remote auto search for the code. I know the remote works on this tv because it was programmed before.
Visit www.jascoproducts.com and go to their Support tab for a code list and generic instructions on most of their remotes. They have come out with a new line recently that have 4-digit codes. Manually turn on the device to be controlled Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the red indicator stays on, then release the button Press and quickly release the device button (TV, VCR, etc). The red light blinks once. Point the remote at the device to be controlled and press the ON/OFF button (up to 300 times) until the device to be turns off. The red indicator blinks off with each button press. Once the device turns off, press the ENTER button to install the code. If after 300 tries the remote does not turn off the device, chances are there is no code in this remote for the device you are trying to use.

Yes there is search mode, but unfortunately you have to look in the manual. I am using 3 universal remote controls (one from sony) and all of them have different procedures for entering the code or searching for the code. The idea is, once the rm is in search mode, you have to wait until the TV turns off (or no) and you have to stop the search and save the setting. If you have no manual and the code is just 2 digits, you can try the 99 codes. This may take you maybe an hour or so (better than nothing). If it has 3-digits, it's a problem.
