Repapir Facility I have an Oritron DAV 5503 Home Theater System. The disc changer malfunctions all the time and I have had to remove the top to dislodge discs that have come off the track. I believe this problem is too complicated for an "e-mail" fix but would appreciate it if you could refer me to a "factory authorized" service center or some other company that is capable of troubleshooting the player. I live in Michigan but am willing to ship the unit for repairs. Thanks Stan

Try cleaning the laser. You can get a disc cleaning disc from your local electrical shop.

First try playing a CD. If that too skips you can clean the lens by opening it.Dust on the lens will effect all types of disc and will not be selective.
You can buy a lens cleaning disk from any Cd store and play it to clean.
The cleaning action takes place only if the disc rotates, so keep the top lid off to see if it rotates.
If you have crossed 500 hours of playing may be the lens is due for a change.

I had a problem similar problem with a dav LF1. I undid a couple of screws, poped the top of the CD/DVD drive so I could them pull the disk out by hand. I then prised the slot open a bit more with my fingers and the plastic eject arm poped up, it seems it was stuck. Works fine now.

There's so much information missing from this question, but assuming this is a DVD changer, it's a disc error. Either the disc is upside-down or backwards and can't be read, is too dirty/scratched or unsupported and can't be read, or the entire mechanism is jammed or malfunctioning. If there are discs in the tray and you can remove them all, remove them and see if the error goes away. If the tray will not open, either take the cover off and remove the discs, or bring it to a service center.

I found a website for the remote you need. I need one too. Go to remotes.com and put your model number of DAV 3102 in the space. It will show you the original remote and a replacemet you can use. Kind of expensive but worth it to me.

are you using discs with labels that you out on your self? I had a similar problem before and my label peeled off in the player causing it to get stuck., you might just have to take it apart, and get the label out.
