Re: i need help
Pick up the handset and try to manually dial the number (make sure you're dialing a 1 if required). If you cannot, then the problem is with the phone company (perhaps there is a block of long distance calls of some sort). See if you can send to a local number.
You're information is a bit sketchy. Also, print out a transmission report and let me know what the error numbers are.
let me know one way or the other

To test it try faxing a test sheet to a known good # using "hook" you will be able to hear the prosses, if the rx unit picks up hit start button and it should go, this tests the line modem etc.
1. issue may be with telephone line conditions, try sending a fax at a different time
2. Disable Error Correction Mode
3. reduce thefax speed
4. try a fax test to hp at 1888 473 2963
1)Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP Fax machine. 2)Verify that the phone cable is fully inserted into the fax machine. If your model has a removable
Line Interface Unit
(LIU) where the phone line plugs into, verify that it is securely snapped in place. 3)If the HP Fax model belongs to the
HP Officejet R80 Series
, verify that the cable which goes from the
Automatic Document Feeder
assembly to the rear of the HP All-in-One base is connected.
4)Reconnect the power cord. After the fax reinitializes and it is ready, try to send and receive faxes again.
If you have a hand set try to use it as a phone. If no dialing tones are present check the phone line connection. If the fax is well connected there is a good chance that you need a part for the machine.
You may have been given a heap of junk. Happens all the time. Just place the document face down in the ADF and dial the number then press the green button to send.
If this is primarily happening with receipts from one sending fax machine, the most likely cause is that the sending machine is transmitting an end code that causes this page to print.
