My Creative Zen Vision M has the same problem. It was working with no problems. I don't recall the battery being dead either.
Today, I brought it in to work and it won't start up. The light on the top blinks on and then goes off when I try to start it.
I have it on charge and it is getting no juice. While it is plugged in, the blue light on top just blinks on and off. It never starts.
I tried the reset button twice. I can not use the reset button while it is on charge due to the proximity of the button to the place where you plug in the adaptor.
It was a bit chilly out this morning, and it was in the car overnight. Could this be related to the issue?
Thanks

Turn on the unit with no disc in the unit. The No Disc message should be visible Press the following keys in this sequence Repeat (not the A-B Repeat, just the plain Repeat) Fast rewind button (just below the Disc Menu button) Play button Down button Down button Right Button
The number 9 should now appear towards the left of the screen.
Open then close the disc draw
Turn off the unit and then on again. You should now be able to play DVDs from any region
I think I figured it out...at least mine is working now anyways and it hasn't worked in 2 years! I got the remote out, pushed setup in dvd mode and initialize and now it works
Sometimes that happens to me too. What I do is just push play, then fast forward, and normally if you watch it, the picture starts to come back. Just keep fast forwarding until you can see all of the picture, and you should be fine.
Hold the power button down and the UP volume botton at the same time to reboot it.
If that fails youll have to le t the battery die and recharge it, that will reset it.
