Cracked door on Panasonic S753 combi microwave oven

My Panasonic NN-S753 combi microwave is working fine, but has developed a crack at the top of the white door surround. Is it dangerous to use in this condition? If I can get a new door is it possible for me to fix this myself? Thank you, incompetent housewife.

Thank you very much Mr Fixit, I was worried about being zapped. You have put my mind to rest and saved me the expense of buying a new microwave. Great!

No not dangerous because the shape of the metal is what keeps the microwaves in , not the door. Yes if you could get a door you could change it yourself.

NN-CT552 combi. What caused two burn marks On top of the door and on the frame?

The inside of a microwave oven has a special paint on it. If the paint becomes damaged, the microwaves strike the bare metal and arc. This leaves a burn mark. It will also ruin the magnetron inside the oven.

Have had Panasonic microwave NN-S753 several years. Worked fine, recently tray started rotating when door is opened to insert food. Despite this problem, unit continues to cook fine after time is set and...

Thanks for that ID number. That's a big help.

Now, looking at the schematic, it's clear that you would have a shorted primary latch switch (top door switch) or that switch's mount is damaged.

For safety, disassembly and diagnosis of door switch trouble, see my generic files:

Microwave cut off

the main control board is "seeingf" a high amprage draw from the inverter board . you have a problem with the inverter or the magntron . parts are more than a new unit . try to stay away from the inverter type , there just not ready for prime time . google "panasonic inverter reviews " and you will see just common your problem is good luck

Door does not secure when closed

Hi , Either you have a faulty door interlock switch(es), or the door latches (on the door) have been damaged and will not activate the interlocks. either way, you have to be conversant with adjusting microwave latch assemblies once the repair has been effected AND THE USE OF AN OVEN LEAK DETECTOR IS IMPERATIVE for final testing or the end user will be subjected to harmful levels of microwave radiation.

Panasonic NN- A712 combination Microwave 1000w - Switches off after 20 seconds

The 22 seconds is the giveaway.

In most cases, this is a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer.
