Question about Panasonic NV-MX300 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
My zoom and focus on my NV-MX300 died a little while ago and noone can seem to fix it. Tried new zoom motor and motherboard (which Eric's Camera in California ordered from Hong Kong because Panasonic Europe and USA could not get it), but no use. The technicians are mystified. Any ideas? It's been a great camera and I'd hate to toss it in the garbage just like that....
What he probably means is that the IC that "Drives" the "Port' has been damaged or destroyed, a very common problem. Due to the manufacturing method, IE: Surface mount compnentry, there simply aint no "Simple Soldering problem" fix, at all... the actual IC, must be replaced... but this isn't actually possible..(well technicaly it is possible, but real hard to do) so hence the only other "Fix", a board replacement. Although ya DV outlet is kaput... If there is another output? say an A/V out? could you not use that as a work arround?

The Panasonic NV gs 15 can only be used as a webcam with the USB cable.
You need a 1394 firewire / DV cable to transfer the video to your pc.

Tips for a great answer:
This happens when the internal focus lens is off track or impaired in some way and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.
