Zenith XBS444 - Shuts off without warning

Hello I'm faced with the problem as others. The zenith xbs444 system works for 1 to 15 minutes then does the same thing 3 blips and powers down. I've tried everything I could think of.
I've pulled the fan out and checked the board for power, but no power.
Again, there are 3 bleep noises then the TV goes to a blank screen and the system seems to reset it's self, I mean the power kinda of flashes and "power light" goes from green to red, but the clock keeps it's time.
Thank You,

I just got done repairing a Zenith XBS444 and the problem is IC706, This defective component is located on the audio output board. Part number is KIA7805A. There are 3 KIA7805A IC's in a row, first one is not on a heat sink, the two behind it are on tall heat sinks, it the 3rd one that is defective. I would advise you to replace both IC's that are on the heat sinks.

Zenith tv rb50m88w shuts off without warning

Most likely there is a bad solder connection or connections somewhere in the set--not likely to be a do it yourself repair unless you have some skill in this area.

The system shuts off after a few minutes

It could be overheating, have you checked how warm it is? Is it in the open. Zenith systems seem to have a lot of problems associated with them

I have a Zenith I played a dvd an it worked fine - put another movie in the dvd player and was going to watch that one and it never read - screen kept saying 'reading'. I tried another dvd and the...

try using a CD cleaner disk..

How old is the system?
DO CDs work when you try them?
Put a disk in... remembering the position it was in..
Then try to play the disk...
Eject if it does not play and look to see if it has moved to a different position...
If not, there is a motor problem or the laser is not sensing the disk being there.

Have you ever opened up the main box of the system?
Has anyone else been inside it?

If yes, then maybe it is time to do it again to observe if there is movement of the laser pickup..

Hi. I'm trying to play a homemade dvd with several slideshows and a selection menu. It works jst fine on my PS3 at home but nothing shows on our son's TV that's connected to a lifestyle 38. Other DVDs...

The dvd may be in the wrong format for your Son's t.v. PS3's play several formats that the lifestyle 38 may not be compatible with. You can download a video converter such as Any Video Converter and format the disc for whatever format you need. Probably mpeg2. Then it should play on most players.

Same Problem, Speakers Do Not Turn On

If it's still under MFG. Warranty, get it replaced. If not, weigh the cost of repair vs. replacement. What has more than likely happened is the unit has seen either a "Brownout" severe voltage drop then spike to commence power, or a power surge. It's a very common problem with today's electronics of all kinds. It will either have a bad power supply or bad transistors and will range from $ 125.00 - $ 175.00 to repair on avg. When you have it replaced or repaired, make sure you purchase a good line conditioning surge protection unit like Monster, Panamax, or Furman. Not a power strip, that's just a glorified light switch. Sorry for the bad news! Hope this helps

No audio for tv?

Since not all devices have the same in/outputs available, if you are trying to interconnect them, it helps to know the make and model of both, not just one.

There are several possibilities to connect external devices to your 'home theatre' system.
The one we have delivers the best when S-video is used but that requires a separate path for sound.
The standard colors for audio in and outputs are red(=right) and white(= left) and often cables are supplied with the same color coding.

The usual connections will be named 'Line in' and 'Line out.' The outputs deliver specified voltage into a specified load (or termination) and the inputs expect that condition.
This ensures that volume controls act in a sensible manner.
