My microtek negative scans are coming out with a very strong cyan bias, and i consistently get a light cyan strip all the way down the left side of the scan. This strip is definitely not on the negatives. Whats going on?

Hi!
Here is a link where you can download a driver for your microtek scan maker 5800.Please click here microtek scan maker 5800.Please choose the appropriate OS before downloading a installer or driver.
Try placing your paper at different places on the scan bed. Also if you have fluorescent lights on nearby turn them off.
Also is your driver compatiible with your OS?
Did you recnently upgrade anythin?
On this page: http://support.microtek.com/downloads/bymodelname.phtml?srch_in=3600&axn=2&slct_mdl=4 select Windows XP from the list of driver downloads and there they are.
I went to System, devise manager and then hardware. Found a problem with the fire wire connection.I checked the wire, it's six pin as recommended. So I have to assume it's a connection issue and not mechanical. It also has a scuzie 50-50 pin connection, might try that too if all else fails. Now I'm going into the Registry and un-installing all the microtek programs. I will then reinstall.. Then I will buy a single FW connection card and and as good a wire as possible and try isolating the connection so there is no conflict with another program. Then light a candle. If no go, it's a $1700.00 loss and my last Microtek purchase. The support from this company is beyond bad!!
I bought the pro version of the 8700, used it about once a month--very light use. When it died, I found that Microtek won't even sell parts! I agree, NEVER buy another Microtek product! This thing cost me over a $1000 and after one year, NO support! Any company but Microtek.
When you say -'normal' prescan
you do mean you get an image?
If this is so I would remove all software.
Do a disc clean
Reboot the computer
Re install the original supplied software-ignore for the time being any down loaded upgrade,
Come back tell me what you have
This link should have user manual etc.
http://www.microtekusa.com/
but unfortunately the site is down at the moment - try again later.
on the singapore (east asia) site
http://www.microtek.com.sg/Product.php?Product=Detail&P_Id=117&Kword=scanmaker%20i900&Select=All&FirstData=0#F-B
nothing obvious based on your problem, but at least it means they still acknowledge the product and that they have to support it. maybe you can spot something yourself as well.
If no luck with the US website then go to microtek.com and complain to any of the other sites. Their customer service should help.
If no joy from this please post again, someone might know the software.
Hope this helps :)
