Hi Keith,
the E68 error is common and basically there are many causes: internal connection problem, overheating, HD general failure.
You should try to disconnect the HD and see if your console works properly.
If yes then it's luckily related only to the HD and not affecting your 360 :)
If you get the same error also after HD removal, please advise me with few more details and we'll try to get rid of it.
Now, as you just bought it, i'm assuming you have warranty so i'd bring it right back to the store and ask for a new one or a refund.
Regards,
Peter
Try this... go to System and select memory. Then press Y on the "HD" symbol, then X, X, left bumper, right bumper, X, X. This preforms maintenance on your HD including cleaning it's cache. Also try removing all peripherals.
there's a possible hard drive issue on this.
try the ff:
-turn off your xbox
-remove your hdd from the xbox
-turn on the xbox while the hdd is removed
-if you're still getting the sme error code, your xbox needs to be repaired/replaced
-=hope that your xbox is still under warranty=- ^^
Have you tried your hard drive on another 360 as i think the problem may be with the xbox? If it works then send in your xbox to microsoft. 08005871102 is the number
If the person that you bought it from on E-Bay had an HD Television. Then the Xbox console is set into HD from the Display options. If your TV is not HD, then It will not display. It can also be the other way around, if His TV is standard and yours is HD. Also try looking at the RCA's(The Part that plugs into the 360) And you will see a slider. Switch the slider, then turn it on. Tell me if that works, if Not, tell me and I will tell you what to press on your 360 controller to set the other menu. Hope this helps.
E74 error There is a 90% chance it's a chip problem it can also be caused by a
