Display problem on NEC MobilePro 900

Hi, I just purchased a NEC MobilePro 900 used and within 15 minutes, I vertical lines appeared in the display making it difficult to see. I had fully charged it and put in a new backup battery (2023), and I tried to adjust the display every way I could think of, but the lines will not go away. Since the unit works great otherwise, I would like to know if there is a way to fix this problem since I could not find the issue in the manual. Maybe a component has gone out? It's very strange that the display was fine while I tried out a game of solitaire on it and then the display went south when I exited the program.

Backup Battery is 2032, which needs to be replaced every 2-3 weeks depending on use. Here is also a great resource for information: http://www.foxpop.co.uk/hpc/mp900_05.htm

I just bought a 900C on eBay and had the same problem. According to the seller "the video cable on the right under the hinge cover gets loose..if its reseated it will be fine..you could just press on the bottom of the hinge cover right and it will make it go away but best to reseat the cable." I haven't tried his solution yet. Mine seems to intermittent since it is working fine right now.
