After trying out your suggestion, the washer began to cycle but it wouldn't stop after that. It kept washing the close without stoping. A Tech came out and stated that the control panels weren't functioning property. Still have a non-functioning machine.

If this worked fine before, then I am only guessing that the water inlet valve has malfunctioned. try filling the machine with a garden hose...any change? if still no go, then be sure to have a shop-vac handy to remove the water you just added.

Google this Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW

You will find FAV6800A or FAV8800A help. I would not by a Control Board or any part until more trouble shooting is completed. We need to make sure you can get into Service Mode nd do some basic checks.

Butoons on contro panel don't work

Cheryl,

I understand what you said. It sounds like your machine is the FAV9800A LCD Maytag Neptune TL. Is that correct?

If so try to power Cycle the washer control board by unpluging the washer 120VAC power for 30 seconds then re-power bach up.

If that dosen't clear the issue you may have a Control Board failure or issues with the KeyPad ribbion cable from the Console to the to the Control Board.

Here is the Service Manual for for the FAV6800A and your machine I believe FAV9800A. If you could confirm your model number.

I have a Maytag Neptune TL that the display is changing and beeping while the load is running and we can not change from the bulky cycle.

I feel you have a Control Board issue. This could be difficult to troubleshoot if you don’t have access to a replacement Control Board. See this post for random activity of the Console. If you decide to DIY I will help………Rich

Spin Option

The problems posted by kim875 and kirsty2 all seem to be the result of faulty signals from the electronic board. This seems to be a real problem with this model machine. I would try to get board replaced under warranty , if at all possible.

All buttons cause machine to beep

Trying unplugging for 20 minutes maybe you can reset it.
