No picture using component on Toshiba 32HL66

I have a new 32HL66. If I hook an XBOX 360 to the component input it works fine. If I hook up a PS2 or my Pioneer DVD player through component I can only get sound. Both the PS2 and the Pioneer work fine using component on my Hitachi CRT. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will check the tv manual again for what you suggested.

The XBOX has a switch on the cable to select HD or component and it is set for the latter.

It may be a synch issue. Make sure your component input is set for the proper type of output. Your XBOX 360 is likely set to 1080i, but your DVD and PS2 are only 480i (or maybe 480p for the DVD if progressive scan). Sometimes component inputs are 'self adjusting' to the signal, but others require manual setting.

I have a daenyx lcd tv, model DN-15, input 12VDC-4A and am trying to hook it up to an xbox 360 console.

If you are using the Red/Yellow/White cable, that's composite cable, but if you're using the one that's Red/Yellow/White/Blue/Green, that's called component. So basically, you set your TV's input to the corresponding color match. 5 colors: Component, 3 colors: Composite.

XBOX 360 composite output works fine. Component

You say the component video is no good? Well this usually happens when it is wired up incorrectly, Ensure you have the right colors in the right jacks at each end, it is real easy to get mixed up... make sure Red goes to Red, Blue to Blue and Green to green, all alongside each other, NO ALSO using Component you MUST also run 2 more cables for the Audio, they are Red & White NOT the Red from the "Other" Video input, BUT the AV Red & White jacks, beside each other on the units. So all in all there are 5 cables taking the Video, 3 R, G, B. + The Audio, R & W.

My xbox shows no picture but has sound

This might not help everybody but it might be a cheap fast solution to the "Xbox 360 no picture but sound ok" problem. I have old refurbished 360 that has had no problems at all. SInce I got it have used it with powerwave cooler attached to the back. This cooler has seperate Outputs for Vga, SVga, audio, component and av. Don't need the microsoft cable at all just standard cables. Always had it plugged in with VGA or SVGA cables and got great picture. I bought new 360 and put the old one in bedroom with old tv which only has av inputs. Got shocking picture that was unwatchable but sound was good. Tried all ways but no different. Seems the xbox plug has problems. If you get the powerwave cooler it splits the xbox output socket in to seperate outputs for everything so you can use it with Vga or Svga cables if your tv has those inputs and it should work fine. Only seems to be the standard AV outputs that have problems. Haven't tried the componet leads but I guess they might work as well. If you only have the old yellow, red and white AV inputs on your tv this wont help you but if you have the other types of inputs it might fix it. The powerwave cooler you should be able to buy for under $20 so it could be a cheap solution for this problem everyone seems to be getting lately. It works for me at least so get one and give it a try.

Plays dvds on xbox 360 fine, but no picture for games/dashboard

already solved it. thanks. i couldn't see the xbox settings blade because of the blank screen so switched my component cable to the tv setting instead of the hdtv setting, then i could see the dashboard in non-hd and switched the resolution to 720p while simultaneously switching the component cable back to the hdtv setting. that worked.
