Re:
Describe how you previously had closed the door. if it was a simple push, then the motor circuit has malfunctioned. if it was by pressing a button, then the same problem or the switch has gone bad. in worst case, open the unit and look for that motor. turn it by hand to both ends of the motion and then retry the camera

eBay is a place where you can get some fairly good deals and good electronics - including camcorders. (We purchased several of our video cams on there with good results.)
It is important to do your research, check the reviews of the seller, and only use eBay's secure transaction feature.
Hello. You will need a Panasonic USB cord and the appropriate driver. If you do not have the CD/driver for this camcorder you can download a free version from panasonic. com

Hello tlofterroed,
What it sounds like is there is a formatting error. What i would suggest is updating your software and trying it again. If this is not the case please write back and i would gladly help.
Please post what you do and how you did it
I look forward to your posts
The fix is really easy and costs nothing, just 10 minutes of your time!
*I fixed mine (twice) this way*
Turn the cam over. remove all the screws holding the dark plastic bottom on the camcorder, remove it carefully. Now you will see the ribbon cables, VERY GENTLY, wiggle them from left to right (about 1mm each way), then push them in. Test by putting your battery back on and see if it holds a tape, or plays without blinking and switching off - you will be happy.
The fault is simply that one cable (I can't tell you which one) becomes loose over time, so it just needs to be pushed back in and the condensation error and/or the door closing problem go away!
A lot of folks are buying cams off eBay like this as it's such a simple repair!
Good luck - please help others - post back if it works!
