Your Acer 2310 should have a built in wireless card,it should show in My computer>right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager>network adapters, here there should be two listed, 1 wireless, 1 wired lan card the driver can be found here: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/tm_2310.html

Where is the switch to turn on your wireless internet, it says check to see if turned on acer travelmate 2310

Hello,

Please check at the front on your laptop where the audio jacks are. There should be two sliders, one is for the bluetooth and one is for the wireless.

Move slider to utmost right, then release - It should then say something like 'Wireless enabled' or 'Wireless disabled'

Make sure you have the Wireless driver installed:

I've just bought a secondhand acer travelmate 2310 & want to enable the wireless LAN so I can conect to the internet?

On the front edge of the computer next to the sound card jack is a small bar, pushing in on the bar should bring up a message on the screen saying wireless enabled or disabled.

My wireless connection degraded slowly

first, can you check first if you have a 2.4GHz cordless phone and try to shut them off and observe your connection (wbr-2310 router uses 2.4GHz as its base frequency). otherwise, log-in to your dlink setup page (use a web browser and type these nos inside the address section "192.168.0.1" the default ip address of your router. you need to hard-wired your computer to the router). then go to setup>wireless settings and under the "wireless network settings" put a check on the "802.11g Only Mode" box then click on "save settings".

  6. setup a Wireless Network Name this can be anything you like
  7. leave the rest as defaults
  8. come down to Security Mode change this to enable wireless security WEP basic.
  9. set WEP key 1 to any ten digit number, make sure you write it down.

  6. after the wizard completes you should be able to go online wireless, unplug the cable and give it a whirl.
if you still have issues, please post back.
please rate the solution if your issue gets resolved, it makes it worth the effort.

If you are not sure which wireless chipset you have, open the device manager and double-click the wireless device.
