I have recently changed my computer still using XP windows though. I was running my scanner through photoshop. It worked very well on my old computer. Now when I try to preview my pic for scanning I get error code 0x24050010 help it is driving me crazy. Thanks all
Sounds like a proprietary TWAIN driver from Canon must be installed...try forcing driver from cd under current devices driver...under device manager, look for imaging devices, then right click-properties then driver-update driver...make sure cd is in

Well, i had this very problem here using windows vista.
i'd learned thru canon's website that there was no solution other than buying a new scanner.
it was a lie. after months trying to solve this i just came to a simple solution.
after installing my old drivers, i got to the settings tab and changed the default profile to my monitor's one. it works now fine here. even if the "scan" option is grayed, i just select the "save" option, and it does the work.
=)
