Central vaccum I have a two story home. I have had the vaccum for 10 years now. All of a sudden each unit where you connect the hose on the 1st story do not work..on the second story of the house they work. I checked the circuit breakers and they are all ok. If I turn the main switch on for the unit..they work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

If the outlets work on the 2nd story ok, and not on the 1st floor, then you may have a wire that has come loose. There maybe a junction that split off between the 1st and 2nd floor. I assume you are talking about the suction and not the brush roll on the power head. If it is the power head not working, then check where the 2 prongs go into the outlets to make sure that the plug receptacle haven't gotten pushed in from the holder.

Vaccum afuera 550 start few minutes and stop few secondes, after 10 min its stop 30 sec and start 3 sec, after 20 min start ok

Your vacuum may be clogged, overheating and shutting off. Check for obstructions in the hose by laying it as straight as possible and shining a flashlight in one end while looking thru the other end. If you have a curved hose end, try holding the suction hose from another vacuum while checking for airflow in the opposite end.

The Vaccum is not turning on when i plug the hose into the wall. The hoover system will turn on when i turn the switch on at the base and wont go off till i turn the switch off. But it will not come on...

you can test this out by taking a small metal spoon and with the bottom side of the spoon insert it into the vac outlet on the wall. you want to touch the two metal pins inside the vac outlet to test if the unit is the problem or the hose is the problem.

If the unit starts, the hose should have a 3 year warranty on it. I recommend you have your nearest beam dealer check it out.

If the unit does not start, it has a 7 or 10 year warranty, the circuitry should be replaced. Again have your nearest beam dealer check it out.

good luck

The system was turned on manually to vaccum out the car and now the only way to turn it off is to unplug it (i.e. pressing the switch on the vaccum canister to auto from manual does not turn it off). Bad...

It is possible that it is a bad switch/circuit board on the unit. If your unit is less than 7 years old that should also be covered by warranty (manufacturer) however an in home service, should you require someone to come to the house will not be covered.

Electrolux central vaccum works sporadically

The the hose, wands and power nozzle to the nearest AERUS store for repair. You have a short that needs to be fixed. They should just be able to replace the wire assemblies inside the wands, handle and power nozzle.

Easy Flo Central vacuum will still work at about

Yes you can easily test for a clog, and a crack for that matter.

to test for a clog push a dry garden hose through the entire system until it comes out at the other end.

to test for a crack, Disconnect the pipe that comes from the house to the central vac unit. Turn on the unit and put your hand over the opening directly at the central vac unit.(Using the utility inlet at the unit will not accomplish the same thing.)
  • Step 2 If your suction is good, then reconnect the tubing and turn on the switch at the unit. If there is no switch, plug your central vacuum hose into one of your inlets to start the system. Then have someone completely seal the hose with their hand. While the unit is running go to the exhaust. With everything closed you should feel almost nothing coming from the exhaust. If you feel very little exhaust, then you do not have a leak

I have a 3 year old NuTone CV 353W central vac system and recently the switch on the hose handle does not turn the system on from any outlet in the house. I have to plug the hose into the outlet and then turn the unit on from the switch on the canister. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. There are a couple of things that come to mind, 1st. you may have a bad switch in the hose and in most cases that can be repaired – if not you would have to purchase a new vacuum hose. 2nd. You may have a bad inlet valve in your hose and most of them are low volt of which would only cost less than $10.00 and can be replaced yourself unless you have what they call a SuperValve of which has 2 low volt wires and then it is wired to your home electricity and that should be replaced by an licensed electrician. It is a low volt and high volt inlet.

#3. the last thing you may check id that you may have a bad relay in the canister itself. Because you should be able to turn on the Central Vac with the switch on the hose and everything should work just fine . feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area of call the Nutone Factory cust serv line for further assistance. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

My Kenmore Central Vac loses suction

Do you have the same problem in all of your outlets? If you do, then there is a problem with the hose end. If it is only at one outlet, then that outlet has a problem.
